In August 2025, Shwetha Menon made the headlines again after an FIR was filed against her at the Ernakulam Central Police Station. A social activist named Martin Menacherry criticised her vulgar and indecent content in her films and advertisements.

He cited her films Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha, Rathinirvedam, and Kalimannu. Once honoured with the Kerala State Film Award, Shwetha Menon was criticised for indecent scenes in films.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered against her under Section 67A of the Information Technology Act. She was alleged to have published sexually explicit material in electronic form. A few other sections, like Sections 3 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, which deal with prostitution-related activities, were also registered.
