Editorial Policy
Stars Fun Facts is a one-person site. Everything below describes how I actually work, not an aspirational standard borrowed from a larger newsroom.
Who is responsible
All content is written and edited by Prashant Sharma, the site’s founder. There is no separate editor, fact-checker or review board. Where an article carries a byline, that person wrote it and is accountable for it.
What this site reports, and what it does not
This site does not do original reporting. No interviews are conducted, no sources are cultivated, and there is no access to broadcasters or production teams. Every article is an assembly of information that already exists publicly, organised so it is quicker to use.
Any article that appears to break news is summarising someone else’s reporting, and that reporting is linked.
Sourcing
In order of preference:
- Primary sources – official broadcaster and streaming announcements, press releases, official statements, verified social media accounts of the person concerned, and public records
- Established news outlets – The Times of India, Hindustan Times, NDTV, The Indian Express, The Economic Times, the BBC and comparable publications
- Aggregators and fan sources – used only for leads, never as the sole basis for a factual claim
Sources are linked inline. If a claim in an article has no link, it should be treated as unsourced and you are welcome to challenge it.
Claims that get special treatment
- Net worth and income. These figures are almost never verifiable. They are labelled as estimates and attributed to whoever published them. They are not presented as fact.
- Relationships, marriages and family details. Included only where the person has discussed them publicly or they have been reported by an established outlet. Speculation is not published.
- Controversies and allegations. Reported as allegations, with the outcome where one exists. An allegation is never written as though it were a finding.
- Ages, birthplaces and career dates. Where sources disagree, the disagreement is stated rather than resolved arbitrarily.
Corrections
Errors are corrected in place. The process:
- Email connect@starsfunfacts.com with the article URL and the specific error
- The claim is re-checked against its source
- If it is wrong, it is corrected or removed, and the article’s update date changes
- Where a correction materially changes what the article said, a dated correction note is added at the foot of the article
Claims about living people that cannot be supported by a reliable source are removed rather than argued over. The subject of an article does not need to prove harm to have an unsourced claim taken down.
Updates
Season guides and contestant lists change during a broadcast run and are updated as announcements are made. Every article shows a published date and, where it differs, a last-updated date. An updated date means the content changed, not that the page was merely re-saved.
Editorial and commercial separation
This site carries advertising. Advertisers have no input into what is covered or how it is written, and no advertiser sees an article before publication. Where affiliate links appear, they are disclosed – see the Affiliate Disclosure.
Paid guest posts, sponsored profiles and paid link insertions are not accepted. Offers of this kind are not answered.
Use of AI
Drafting and editing tools, including AI writing assistants, may be used while producing articles. They are not used to generate facts. Every factual claim in an article traces back to a human-checked source, and responsibility for what is published rests with the named author, not a tool.
