Hot Shwetha Menon Making Controversy Again!
In August 2025, Shwetha Menon made the headlines again after an FIR was filed against her at the Ernakulam Central Police Station. A social activist named Martin Menacherry criticised her vulgar and indecent content in her films and advertisements. He cited her films Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha, Rathinirvedam, and Kalimannu. Once honoured with the Kerala State Film Award, Shwetha Menon was criticised for indecent scenes in films.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered against her under Section 67A of the Information Technology Act. She was alleged to have published sexually explicit material in electronic form. A few other sections, like Sections 3 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, which deal with prostitution-related activities, were also registered.
What was her Reaction?
In her defence, she filed a petition in the Kerala High Court stating that it was a politically motivated stint against her. She added that how someone can object when the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had approved it. Shwetha Menon raised concerns saying that why the case was registered just a few days before nominations for the AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) elections.
In her support, a few South Indian actors like Maala Parvathi and Raveendra raised their voices.
Shwetha Menon has earlier made the headlines for wrong reasons. In 2004, a case was filed against her for insulting the Indian National flag in a fashion show.

She gained immense popularity for her role as Cheeru in the Malayalam film ‘Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha’ in 2009. Also, made her mark in the modelling industry by winning Miss Bangalore in 1993.
Her first marriage was with the actor-writer named Bobby Bhonsle. They got divorced in 2007. She married for the second time in 2011 to the journalist Sreevalsan Menon. Shwetha Menon has a daughter named Sabaina Menon, born in 2012.
Her father, T.V. Naranankutty, served in the Indian Air Force, while her mother Sarada Menon is a homemaker.
After making appearances in a few Hindi films, she moved down South for better opportunities. She has bagged many prestigious awards like Kerala State Film Awards, Filmfare Awards South, South Indian International Movie Awards and many more.
Apart from films and modelling, she has done many South Indian TV serials. She was also one of the contestants in Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 1.
