Three different prize figures for this season are still being published, and all three trace to real numbers at different points in time.

The reason for the shortfall is a task. Season 7 ran a Bigg Bank format in which housemates could win cash during the series, and whatever they won came out of the same pot. Noora Fathima alone took Rs 3.5 lakh from it in one task. The winner receives the remainder, so the headline figure was never going to be the payout.
There is a second thing missing from the prize that older recaps still mention. Early seasons handed the winner an apartment alongside the cash. That stopped after season 3. Anumol received the cash and a car, not a flat, and any page telling you a Bigg Boss Malayalam winner gets an apartment is describing the show as it was before 2022.

Anumol is the second woman to win the Malayalam edition, after Dilsha Prasannan in season 4. Mohanlal has hosted every season, which makes him the only host the franchise has had in Malayalam – a longer unbroken run than Salman Khan’s on the Hindi version, where three others fronted the first three seasons.
Season 7 also broke the pattern on scheduling. Seasons 3 to 6 all launched between February and late March. Season 7 started in August, which is why it finished in November rather than the usual June or July.
Why season 2 has no winner
Most winners lists skip straight from Sabumon Abdusamad to Manikuttan, which leaves a gap that looks like an error. It is not.
Season 2 premiered on 5 January 2020 and was designed to run 105 days. It was stopped on 20 March 2020, on day 75, when COVID-19 restrictions ended production at the Chennai film city where it was shot. There was no finale and no trophy. The housemates still in the house were simply sent home.
So season 2 is not a season whose winner has been forgotten. It is a season that never produced one, and a list that quietly renumbers around it is misleading about the franchise’s history.
Season 8
Asianet announced season 8 on 21 May 2026, on Mohanlal’s birthday, with Mohanlal returning for an eighth year. A pre-show called Agnipariksha is being used to select the commoner contestants. The premiere date has not been confirmed at the time of writing – September 2026 has been reported but not announced by the channel or by JioHotstar. Mohanlal signed an extension in December 2025 covering three further seasons beyond season 8.

The prize figure. Rs 42,55,210 is used because two independent outlets published that exact amount after the finale and the season record agrees with it. The Rs 44,75,210 figure came out on finale day itself and was superseded. Rs 50 lakh is the advertised pool, not a payout. All three are shown above rather than one being presented as the only truth.
The finale date. 9 November 2025, a Sunday. One report carries 10 November, which is the day after; the season record and the pre-finale coverage both give the 9th.
