Eighteen people lived in the house across the season, but only sixteen walked in on premiere night. That gap is the reason contestant counts differ from one list to the next, and it is explained under the tables.

Why you will see 16, 17 and 18 quoted as the contestant count
All three numbers turn up in print, and all three are defensible depending on what is being counted.
Sixteen people were selected into the house on premiere night, 24 August 2025. Shehbaz Badesha was on the premiere stage that evening but was not picked, and he came back as a wildcard on day 14. Malti Chahar entered as the second wildcard on day 42.
So the honest breakdown is sixteen at the premiere, two wildcards, and eighteen people who actually lived in the house. A page that says seventeen is usually counting the premiere group plus whichever wildcard it noticed. If a source gives a single number without saying which of the three things it is counting, that is the number to treat carefully.
Three housemates left the house and came back
Recaps tend to treat an exit as final. Season 19 had three that were not, and one of them ran all the way to the finale.
- Farhana Bhatt was voted out by her fellow housemates on day 1, before the public had voted on anything at all. She spent days 1 to 6 in a secret room, re-entered, and finished as first runner-up.
- Nehal Chudasama was evicted on day 28, went into the secret room, and re-entered on day 32. Her second run ended on day 63.
- Pranit More walked out on day 70 and returned on day 75. He finished second runner-up.
One further exit is worth separating out. Ashnoor Kaur’s departure on day 98 is recorded as an ejection, not an eviction, and the two are not the same thing – an eviction is the outcome of a vote, an ejection is a production decision. Lists that file her alongside the evicted housemates quietly lose that distinction.

The ninety-minute stagger between streaming and television held for the whole season. The finale was the single exception: Colors brought its broadcast forward by an hour and a half so that television and streaming started together. Weekend Ka Vaar, the Saturday and Sunday episodes fronted by Salman Khan, sat inside that same daily schedule.
The house and the theme
The season was sold on a political conceit, Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar, in which housemates formed a government, held assembly debates and voted on decisions about the house.
The house itself was designed by Omung Kumar with production designer Vanita Garud, and only one room actually carried the political idea. Kumar has described the brief as a cabin in the woods – warm wood, strong colour, and hybrid animal sculptures through the space, including a twenty-foot rooster with horns and an eagle in the confession room. The Assembly Room is the part built for the season theme. Descriptions of the whole house as a parliament set go further than the designer’s own account of it.

What comes next: Bigg Boss 20
Colors TV and JioHotstar have announced season 20 for 6 September 2026, with Salman Khan hosting again and the same pattern of a 9:00 pm stream and a 10:30 pm television broadcast. Beyond the date, the host and the platforms, nothing is confirmed at the time of writing, and the contestant lists already circulating are not official. Housemate names, entry days and exit days come from the season record, cross-checked against two contestant lists published in premiere week. The sixteen-name premiere line-up matched across all three.
Finish positions. Positions are given only for the top five, because those are the placings the show announced at the finale. Below that this page gives eviction days instead. “Ninth place” and similar rankings for evicted housemates are a convention of list sites rather than something Bigg Boss declares.
Voting figures are not included. No full vote breakdown for season 19 has been published by the broadcaster. The percentages that circulate on social media are not traceable to Colors or JioHotstar, so they are left out rather than repeated.
